Hi I’m Cammie, I love to cook, eat, and travel, and with a full career in food media, you could say I’m a professional. I got a bit sick of writing exhaustive lists every time someone asked me for a recommendation so I’ve put them all in one place.
Here you’ll find links to all my Google map lists with recommendations that are either personally vetted by me, or handed on by a reliable source. Just click the link and they’ll sync to your Google Maps app. Easy!
So, what’s on these recommendation lists?
You won’t find much fine dining on these lists. These are the places that have food I could eat again and again, where the meals leave a lasting impression.
I’ve also left notes on places in the list if there’s a notable dish/trait/piece of information to add value to your visit.
How to use the maps
The links below will take you to a shared Google Maps list. Tap save to keep a copy of these lists in your own maps app. To re-visit the list at a later date you can click the ribbon icon with the word ‘saved’ at the bottom of the screen of your Google Maps app.
The map will be saved in your app and display automatically. If you want to remove the pins, navigate to the saved tab, then tap the three dots and hit ‘hide on your map’.

Recommendation lists for China are a bit tricky because Google doesn’t operate in China. I’m working on some Apple and Gaode Map lists. In the meantime, you can check out my YouTube channel where I’ve listed the names of all the venues visited. Details on how to find them are available on my guide to visiting China under ‘navigation’.

“I knew already that the best meal in the world, the perfect meal, is very rarely the most sophisticated or expensive one. I knew how important factors other than technique or rare ingredients can be in the real business of making magic happen at the dinner table. Context and memory play powerful roles in all the truly great meals in one’s life.”
